What is Caspedia?
Caspedia is a free, student-run encyclopaedia and information hub built to document events, achievements, and stories relevant to our school community. It is heavily inspired by Wikipedia and other open informational websites — in both its visual design and its commitment to making information freely accessible to anyone who visits.
Like Wikipedia, Caspedia is built on the idea that knowledge should be easy to find, clearly written, and honestly presented. Unlike Wikipedia, Caspedia is not a general encyclopaedia — it is focused specifically on our community: the people in it, the things we do, and the events that happen around us.
Anyone is welcome to browse Caspedia, whether you are a member of our grade, a student from elsewhere in the school, or simply a curious visitor who found their way here. The site is open to the public.
Founding and ownership
Caspedia was founded and is solely owned by Ameer M. Alnaimi, a student who built this project from scratch with the goal of creating something genuinely useful for the people around him. The idea grew from a simple observation: there was no good place to look back at things our community had done, no record of events, and no shared space for that kind of information to live.
Ameer handles the overall direction of the site, its infrastructure on GitHub, and the editorial standards that contributors are expected to follow. All final decisions regarding content, structure, and policy rest with him as the sole owner of the organisation.
Purpose and scope
Caspedia serves two main purposes:
- Documenting events — matches, competitions, activities, and anything else worth recording that happens within our community.
- Highlighting achievements — celebrating what our organisation and its members have accomplished, so those efforts are not forgotten.
Our primary audience is the students of Grade 10 (now almost Grade 11) who make up our core community. However, the site is open to the entire school and to anyone outside it who is interested in what we do. Think of it as a living archive — something that grows as our community does.
Contributors
Articles and event pages on Caspedia are written by Ameer M. Alnaimi and a small group of appointed contributors. Contributors are trusted members of the community who have been specifically invited to help document events and write content for the site.
